World Book Day 2021

I had the pleasure of illustrating the cover of Judi Curtin’s new Lissadell inspired book ‘Lily & the Lissadell Ghost,’ which is this years chosen Irish title for World Book Day. Published by O’Brien Press, this sweet historical book is available in all good bookstores.

Today we celebrate the enjoyment of books and reading. Unfortunately many children don’t have access to books in their homes. World Book Day provides children with the opportunity to have a book of their own. All WBD books are only £1, and there’s also this exclusive Irish title which children can buy with their WBD tokens.

Reading books has proved an important lifeline for us all during the last year. So many wonderful books were published in 2020, and the beginning of 2021. Promotional events are still canceled unfortunately, and so it is essential that we all get together and promote books online, and purchase them from local bookstores.

Illustrators Ireland are also celebrating reading, and showcasing all our books that were released in 2020. Click here to see the full range of children’s books illustrated by our members during a very uncertain year.

Happy reading! x
